Late last night the government issued further guidance around 'essential travel' and made reference to businesses that are in our sector.
The latest guidance as of 10pm Sunday 22nd March is here: https://www.gov.uk/government/news/covid-19-essential-travel-guidance.
The underlying advice being that people avoid travel whether for isolation purposes or holidays and remain in their primary residence.
As a result of this, and due to continuing extraordinary circumstances outside of our control, we will not be taking any bookings at The Den for arrival before 4th June 2020.
We believe that continuing to do so would be against the spirit of strong government recommendation and may put the safety of our customers, ourselves and our local community at risk.
Alongside this, we are strongly recommending that all customers due to arrive before or on the 30th April defer their holiday to a later date in 2020 or 2021.
We have made a temporary amendment to our booking conditions to allow customers rebook their holiday without any rebooking fees. The only additional charges may be due to normal differences in prices due to the time of year. If you have a booking to start before 4th June 2020, please email us at email@example.com with your preferred new holiday dates.
If you are a ‘key’ worker (as defined by the government) requiring accommodation, please contact us separately.
Over the last week, we have all had to take many challenging decisions. These latest changes are no less difficult to make, but in line with other companies in the travel industry, we believe this is the most socially responsible course of action we, as a business, can take. under the circumstances.
